Introducing:

The Cutoffs

As long as we’re moving We’re on our way.

Native Texan, singer-songwriter Don Denham started his music career fronting pop-punk and indie rock bands around the greater DFW Metroplex. (Gym Class Dropouts, Da Di Da) His passion for music, as well as his need to escape North Dallas suburbia, lead him to find a creative haven in Austin,TX in 2010.

After failing to get any personal projects off the ground in his first few years in Austin, Don found himself playing bass for notable Texas acts such as Libby Koch and Brandon Callies Band. Though he grew as a musician and developed a respect for the country and Americana industry, he never connected with the music he was playing most frequently.

In 2019, Don reignited his excitement for playing music, playing guitar with Jake Lloyd in packed historic venues in Austin, TX. Don’s guitar lines can be heard most notably in the Jake Lloyd singles Cold Summer and Crossroading.

After decades of living and playing in the live music capital of Austin, TX- Don has finally dedicated the time and effort to prioritize putting together a full band to properly execute his ideas. And The Cutoffs were forged in the fires of Mt. D(enha)oom. A plucky collection of excellent Austin-based musicians who stylistic specialties range from metal to indie folk to prog rock. It’s one hell of a sound gumbo.
